Caldwell County Sheriff's Office, May 2026 - NEWS RELEASE

On 05/01/2026, at 1:39 pm, deputies responded to the 200 block of Woods Avenue for a report of a trespasser, which resulted in the arrest of a 68-year-old female from Braymer.

On 5/03/2026, at 12:30 pm, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 13 at State Route F in Kingston, which resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old male from Richmond, MO, on a Ray County failure to appear traffic warrant.  The deputy also issued the driver a citation for speeding (13 mph over).

On 5/3/2026, at 3:31 pm, deputies responded to an unattended death on Duroc in Cameron, Caldwell County, MO.  No foul play was suspected.

On 05/04/2026, a Caldwell County detective investigated allegations of sexual misconduct between two inmates at the Detention Center.  The allegations were unfounded.

On 05/04/2026, at 7:29 pm, deputies responded to an address on N. Davis in the City of Hamilton for a report of a suicidal subject. The subject was transported by emergency services to a medical facility.

On 05/05/2026, at 12:00 pm, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office began investigating a violation of the Missouri Sex Offender Registry.   It was reported that a Caldwell County registered sex offender sent a private message to an individual on social media they had not reported when they registered.  A report was forwarded to the Caldwell County prosecutor.

On 05/05/2026, at 12:27 pm, a 60-year-old male from Polo was stopped at Highway 116 and Pikes Road in Polo and cited for speed (13 mph over).

On 05/05/2026, at 3:13 pm, a 47-year-old male from Dawn, MO, was stopped at Highway 116 and Denver Road in Polo and cited for speed (11 mph over).

On 05/06/2026, at 12:33 pm, a 72-year-old male from Bethany, MO, was stopped at Highway 13 and State Route HH in Kingston and cited for speed (12 mph over).

On 05/06/2026, at 3:55 pm, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 13 at State Route P in Hamilton, which resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old female from Oak Grove, MO, on a Clay County failure to appear traffic warrant. The deputy also issued the driver a citation for speed (12 mph over).

On 05/07/2026, at 9:54 am, 41-year-old Shane Michael Silvers of Odessa, MO, was arrested as a result of a break-in at a gas station in Braymer, MO in April of 2026.  Silvers was charged with burglary, property damage, and attempted theft and remains in custody on a $250,000 cash only bond.

On 05/07/2026, at 12:10 pm, a deputy arrested a 50-year-old male subject at Supervision Services in Hamilton, MO, on a Caldwell County bond violation warrant on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance. 

 

On 05/07/2026, at 5:40 pm, a 51-year-old female from Smithville, MO, was stopped at Highway 116 and Gold Road in Lathrop and cited for speed (19 mph over).

 

On 05/08/2026, at 4:57 pm, a 27-year-old female from Cincinnati, OH, was stopped at Highway 36 and Springhill Road in Hamilton and cited for speed (18 mph over).

 

On 05/08/2026, at 5:40 pm, a 24-year-old female from Hamilton was stopped at Highway 116 and Pikes Road in Polo and cited for failing to register a motor vehicle. 

On 05/08/2026, at 6:19 pm, a deputy responded to an address on Front Street in Kidder for a domestic disturbance.  The parties involved separated, and no arrests were made.

On 05/08/2026 at 8:58 pm, a deputy stopped a vehicle at Highway 36 and Highway 13, which resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old male from Chillicothe, MO, for felony no driver's license.

On 05/09/2026, at 12:44 am, a deputy responded to an address on Main Street in Kingston, MO, for a vehicle fire.  The investigation was turned over to the State Fire Marshal.

On 05/09/2026, at 12:50 am, at 3:18 am, and at 4:49 am, a deputy was dispatched to an address in Breckenridge for a report of property damage, trespassing, and an unknown disturbance.  The reporting party eventually agreed to be transported to a medical facility for a mental evaluation after it was determined they were under the influence of a substance that was causing hallucinations. 

On 05/09/2026 at 8:54 pm, a deputy responded to an address on Hollow Drive, Polo, MO, for a domestic disturbance. The parties involved separated, and no arrests were made.

On 05/09/2026, at 10:07 am, a deputy responded to an address on Duroc, in Cameron, Caldwell County, for a report of a runaway juvenile.   On 05/12/2026, the juvenile was located by Excelsior Springs Police and was turned over to their guardian.  A report was forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

On 5/11/2026 at 10:19 am, a deputy responded to a report of vandalism at a business in Polo, MO.  The investigation resulted in the identity of several juvenile suspects from Polo.  A report was forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

On 05/11/2026, at 6:54 pm, a deputy responded to an address on Broadway in Breckenridge for a a report of a stolen air conditioning unit.  The investigation is ongoing.

On 05/12/2026, at 10:21 am, a 73-year-old male from Hamilton, MO, was stopped at Highway 13 and Dustin Road in Hamilton and cited for speed (12 mph over).

On 05/12/2026, at 12:43 pm, a 46-year-old female from Richmond, MO, was stopped at Highway 116 and State Route D in Polo and cited for speed (14 mph over).

On 5/12/2026 at 3:52 pm, deputies responded to an address on Eagle Creek at Hideaway Lakes in Polo for a well-being check on children at that home.  The investigation resulted in the removal of the children.

On 05/12/2026, at 7:17 pm, a 17-year-old female from Gallatin, MO, was stopped at Highway 13 and Old Highway 13 in Hamilton and cited for failing to provide proof of financial responsibility.

On 05/13/2026, at 1:07 pm, deputies responded to a tractor fire near Jefferson and Sunset, Hamilton, Caldwell County.  No injuries were reported, and no foul play was suspected.

On 05/15/2026, at 2:04 pm, a 71-year-old female from Polo was stopped at Highway and Dodgers Drive in Polo and cited for speed (14 mph over).

On 5/17/2026 at 12:02 pm, a deputy took a report of harassment from a resident at the 400 block of Main in Kingston.  The suspect was identified as a 22-year-old male from Kansas City, MO.  A report was forwarded to the prosecutor's office for filing of formal charges.

On 05/17/2026 at 8:56 pm, Caldwell County deputies were dispatched to an address on Sale Barn Road, Cameron, Caldwell County, for a 911 call of a domestic disturbance.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old male subject for 1st-degree domestic assault and 1st-degree property damage.  

On 05/18/2026, at 4:47 pm, a 29-year-old male from Braymer was stopped at Elm Street / Stoutmore Street in Polo and cited for failing to register a motor vehicle.

On 05/18/2026 at 7:79 pm, Caldwell County deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 116 and Holstein Rd., Polo, MO 64671 in reference to traffic violation.  The driver, an 18-year-old male from Excelsior Springs was issued citations for driving while suspended and failure to register a motor vehicle.

On 05/18/2026, at 7:46 pm, a 67-year-old male from Turney, MO, was stopped at Highway 116 and Brangus Road in Lathrop, Caldwell County, and cited for speed (15 mph over).

On 05/19/2026, at 5:42 pm, Caldwell County deputies were dispatched to an address on 4th Street in Braymer for a domestic disturbance. No arrests were made.

On 05/21/2026, at 2:05, a 52-year-old male from Hamilton was stopped at Highway 13 and Highway 116 and cited for failing to register a motor vehicle.

On 05/21/2026, at 2:45 pm, a 42-year-old female from Chillicothe was stopped at Highway 116 and State Route D and cited for expired plates.

On 05/21/2026, at 2:50 pm, Caldwell County deputies assisted Children's Division with a hotline call at an address on Broadway in Breckenridge.  The allegations in the hotline were unfounded, and no arrests were made.

On 05/22/2026, at 9:44 am, a deputy responded to the area of Oak Drive and Kidder Road in Kidder for a report of property damage to a field.  A possible suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

On 05/23/2026, at 7:37 am, Caldwell County deputies responded to the area of Sale Barn Road and Oregon Drive in Cameron, Caldwell County, for a report of a suspicious person, who was located and transported by emergency services to a medical facility.

On 05/23/2026, at 10:56 pm, a 29-year-old male from Braymer was stopped on Highway 116 and Yankee Ridge in Polo and cited for failing to register.

On 05/24/2026, at 12:14 pm, a 57-year-old male from Smithville, MO, was stopped on Washington Street in Kingston and cited for failing to register a motor vehicle.

On 05/25/2026, at 9:45 am, a 57-year-old female from Sedalia, MO, was stopped at Highway 116 and Pikes and cited for speed (11 mph over).

On 05/25/2026, at 10:06 am, a 25-year-old female from Superior, WI, was stopped on Highway 116 at State Route D in Polo and cited for speed (12 mph over).

On 05/26/2026, at 9:30 am, a 39-year-old male subject from Kidder turned himself in at the Sheriff's Office on a Caldwell County warrant on the original charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

On 05/26/2026, at 2:45 pm, a 30-year-old male from Cowgill was stopped at Highway 116 and Royals Road in Cowgill and cited for speed (11 mph over).

On 05/26/2026, at 6:11 pm, a deputy responded to an address in Cowgill for a report of a suicidal juvenile.  The juvenile was located and transported by emergency services to a medical facility.

On 05/28/2026 at 8:47 pm, a deputy stopped an ATV without headlights on Highway 13 at Oak Street in Polo.  The driver, a 34-year-old male from Polo, was issued a citation for no driver's license.

On 05/29/2026, at 6:55 am, a 21-year-old male from Carrollton, MO, was stopped at Highway 116 and State Route B in Cowgill and cited for speed (15 mph over) and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.

On 05/29/2026, at 11:13 am, a 70-year-old male from Polo was stopped at Highway 116 and Silvers Road in Polo and cited for speed (14 mph over).

On 05/29/2026, at 1:37 pm, a 51-year-old from Belton, MO, was stopped on Highway 13 at Kendal Road in Kingston and cited for speeding (13 mph over).

On 05/29/2026, at 9:04 pm, a 27-year-old male from KCMO was stopped on Highway 36 at State Route J in Kidder and cited for speed (15 mph over).

On 05/30/2026, at 11:54 pm, a deputy responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Main Street in Kingston.  The parties involved separated, and no arrests were made.

On 05/30/2026, at 1:16 pm, a 42-year-old male from Springfield, MO, was stopped at Highway 13 and Kendal Road in Kingston and cited for speed (12 mph over).

On 05/31/2026, at 11:30 am, a 52-year-old male from Hamilton was stopped at Highway 13 and Dustin Road in Hamilton and cited for speed (15 mph over).

On 05/31/2026, at 12:57 pm, a 75-year-old male from Cowgill was stopped at Highway 116 and Yankee Ridge in Polo and cited for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.
